Stephan Smuts brings a multidisciplinary background spanning the Humanities and Technology, with a specialization in cybersecurity and a CompTIA Security+ certification.
His approach is rooted in Systems Thinking, viewing organisations as interconnected systems of people, processes, and technology rather than a collection of isolated controls. Most security risks and compliance gaps arise from the way these elements interact, not from a single missing safeguard.
Rather than introducing more tools and alerts, Stephan focuses on understanding how your environment truly operates and identifying the areas where focused improvements create the greatest impact. This results in clearer priorities, more efficient use of resources, and practical security that works in everyday operations instead of existing only to satisfy compliance requirements.
