Stephan Smuts has a multidisciplinary background ranging from the Humanities to Tech, with a focus on cybersecurity and a CompTIA Security+ qualification.
The way I work is grounded in Systems Thinking: I look at your organisation (its people, processes and technology) as one connected system, not a checklist of isolated tools. Most breaches and compliance gaps don't come from a single missing control; they emerge from how these parts interact under real-world pressure.
So instead of piling on more tools and more alerts, I map how your environment actually behaves, find where the real risk lives, and target the few leverage points that cut the most risk with the least disruption to how your team already works.
That means clearer priorities, fewer wasted resources, and security that holds up in practice, not just on paper. In other words: small, well-placed changes, big gains in resilience.
